Your quotation
Changing purity does not change the rate. Enter the rate your jeweller quoted for this purity. This tool does not know live prices.
Weight of gold only, without stones.
Net gold weight = gross minus stone weight. Stone weight is never charged as gold. Enter any stone price under stone charges.
Wastage, stones, other charges, GST
Leave blank if the jeweller already includes it in the making charge.
3% is assumed for a normal retail sale of jewellery, applied to the full value including making. Check your invoice and official CBIC guidance.

Estimated resale value
An estimate only. Future rates, hallmark and purity testing, shop deductions and policy decide the real figure. Making charges and GST are normally not recovered.
How the price is calculated
Gold value is net gold weight times the rate per gram. Making charges are added as a percentage of gold value, a rate per gram, or a fixed amount. Optional wastage, stone and other charges follow. GST is then applied to the subtotal.
Worked example (assumed numbers)
Gold value ₹1,00,000 with 15% making is ₹15,000, so the subtotal is ₹1,15,000. GST at 3% is ₹3,450 and the total is ₹1,18,450. At 10% making the total is ₹1,13,300, a saving of ₹5,150 including the lower GST.

What this tool cannot tell you
A high making charge does not prove a price is unfair. Designs, hallmarking, stones and shop policy all differ. Use the estimate to ask better questions. Verify hallmarks and HUID on the official BIS website at bis.gov.in. This site is not linked to BIS, CBIC or any government body.
